Are you any closer to releasing the new version with support for fusiontables? I am just starting to build an extensive library of fusiontable-driven Google maps and would like to find a plugin that will support this.

  • BrianMathe March 31, 2012 at 11:08 pm

Good plugin but I am having an issue. I try to retrieve a KML layer, which works. But doing it the zoom level I specify does not work.

    Here is my shortcode:

Here is an example of this problem :

    [google-map-v3 width="550" height="400" zoom="12" maptype="terrain" mapalign="center" directionhint="false" language="default" poweredby="false" maptypecontrol="true" pancontrol="true" zoomcontrol="true" scalecontrol="true" streetviewcontrol="true" scrollwheelcontrol="true" draggable="true" tiltfourtyfive="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" kml="" bubbleautopan="true" showbike="false" showtraffic="false" showpanoramio="false"]

  • Rob March 31, 2012 at 1:42 pm

Love your plugin, but I’m having an issue – The map shows for a location in the Philippines. Here is the short code:
    [google-map-v3 width="500" height="500" zoom="12" maptype="roadmap" mapalign="center" directionhint="true" language="default" poweredby="true" maptypecontrol="true" pancontrol="true" zoomcontrol="true" scalecontrol="true" streetviewcontrol="true" scrollwheelcontrol="false" draggable="true" tiltfourtyfive="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkerlist="Silva Homes{}1-default.png{}65 Centre W., Harrow, ON N0R 1G0 Canada" bubbleautopan="true" showbike="false" showtraffic="false" showpanoramio="false"]

    Any thoughts?

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 31, 2012 at 2:51 pm

Please try having market list as follows:
      65 Centre W., Harrow, ON N0R 1G0 Canada{}1-default.png{}Silva Homes

  • Ernst Nieuwoudt March 31, 2012 at 11:27 am

Hi, thank you for the great plugin. At the moment I am having a problem on one of my sites where the zoom slider on the left is there but not really visible.

Could you please be so kind as to point me in the right direction as to what i can do to fix it? Or is it something you must change?

    Tx again

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 31, 2012 at 11:40 am

In your theme’s CSS you have the following rule:

      #content img {
      height: auto;
      margin: 0;
      max-width: 100% !important;

Change “max-width: 100% !important;” to “max-width: 100%”. In other words you should get:

      #content img {
      height: auto;
      margin: 0;
      max-width: 100%

We are working on a new site, and have added the plug-in to one section. I am having an issue with alignment of some of the buttons once you go into the directions from one of my locations. The “By Car” and “Walking” buttons look funky, and then the “Get Directions” and “Print Directions” mis-align after you see your directions results. There is a bit more padding above the additional options for my liking, but that is not the end of the world. Everything else is looking great – I really love this plug-in, it is so perfect for what we are doing – however, these couple little bugs are concerning because I really want it to be clean. Here is the site: Any help would be appreciated!

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 31, 2012 at 6:49 am

Lillian, ATM I wont be able to help you. What you are experiencing I have seen happening with another user. Something on your WP is adding empty paragraph tags (The < P >) and line break BR within my HTML of the direction section. Thats why it is so messed up. I never had a chance to find out why is this happening, because I could not replicate this on my local nor live machines with WP. I dont have an answer for that now.

  • Tony March 30, 2012 at 2:35 pm

hi, i’ve downloaded your great plugin and everything seems to work well, but when i click on the marker the popup displays text in white, Being white even the background nothing can be seen. I’ve tried in Firefox, Opera and Chrome and do the same. In IE8 the map does’nt display at all. Could you help me, please? Thank you Tony

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 31, 2012 at 6:36 am

Probably CSS clashing with CSS of your theme. I need you to provide me with URL to the page where map is.
So in IE8 no map at all? Not even “loading” image? Provide more information about what do you see… I am travelling to US these days, so please be patient if i dont respond

  • Carine March 29, 2012 at 4:53 pm

    Hello Alex,

    your plugin is great.
I would like to open the direction links “To here”, “From here” and “Street View” in a new page.
Is this possible with the plugin?

  • Hugo March 29, 2012 at 3:48 pm

    Hi Alex,
i just had an ideas about the map border : Why just take off the border in the plugin .css (just updated the map and got the border again ..;) )
Doing that way, peoples who want a border can easylie add it to there main .css, and peoples who don’t want the border can have none !

    Take care

  • Mike Brenner March 29, 2012 at 11:40 am

    Hello Alex!

I have translated your Comprehensive Google Map Plugin into German. May I send you the translation files, so you can build them in into your Plugin?

Is there a possibility to change the address in the “bubble-content” from this:
“Company Name, Street, Postcode and City”

    to this:
    “Company Name”
    “Postcode and City”

and how will I do that?

    Best regards from Austria

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 29, 2012 at 12:13 pm

Please do send the Po and Mo files, just to confirm – where did you get the Pot file?
      Regarding you question:
You don’t want to separate them by comma but each part of the field in its own field? If this is index your question, then it is not possible ATM.

      Thank you

      • Mike Brenner March 30, 2012 at 8:53 am

The Pot file is in the languages folder of your plugin. It’s called “comprehensive-google-map-plugin.pot”. ;)

Link to download the translation files:
(Couldn’t find an E-Mail address, so I uploaded it on our server.)

Thank you for your fast answer. By the way I managed it alternatively, by editing the CSS file.

        Best regards

  • Bart March 28, 2012 at 10:40 am

Great plugin! I really like it, but I can’t get the language right. I live in The Netherlands and really like to get the language of the popup and the route map in Dutch. I set the language to Dutch in builder and it appears in the short code as: language=”nl” but all still in English.

Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks Bart

    Example on:

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 1:16 pm

      Hi Sorry,

language only sets the map language. Not the info bubble and links language. I need someone to generate PO and MO files for me for Dutch translation

      • Bart March 28, 2012 at 1:39 pm

        Hi Alexander,

Thanks. Can you change the miles / Km thing. Po Mo files can be done with a need plugin. Have to dig a bit to find the name installed it on a blog last week :-)

        • Bart March 28, 2012 at 1:40 pm

Oh and the map is picked up from for Dutch this should be Else the map description will be in English too.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 1:48 pm

What do you mean? ATM your map is fully in Dutch, apart from the info bubble text, its links and direction controls…

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 1:48 pm

“Can you change the miles / Km thing.”
          What do you mean ‘change’?

  • Chris March 27, 2012 at 5:05 pm

Hi, is there a way to have multiple mashup maps? I’m planning on riding across Canada this summer, and ideally I’d like to have a route map, and also a separate mashup map with the places that I’d like to visit. Is this possible? Thanks again for a great plug-in!

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 12:53 am

ATM you can have only one mashup map per blog/site

      • Chris March 29, 2012 at 9:42 pm

Ok thanks for the help. I’ll try and figure out how to work with this. For now you can see what I’m doing with it at my site :)

  • Seamus Collins March 27, 2012 at 2:45 pm

Im having difficulty with the plugin since I upgraded form .22 It is just stuck on an eternal loading circle. HELP!

  • Hugo March 27, 2012 at 2:00 pm

    Hi Alex,
i tried to ‘display:none;’ the map border but i could not find the css related, don’t you think a little radio related to the map border in the admin want be usefull ? like this : map border display Yes – No

Also i use the plugin for a big map and sometime a got the warning window saying : i could not find the adresse xxx , this is cool, but it also appear on visitors side ! So because sometimes an adresse is moving or simply the google server don’t find it temporarly all my visitors have the window ‘i could not find the adresse xxx….’ Is it possible to make this warning window only for the website admin ?

All the goods for your relocating

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 27, 2012 at 3:11 pm

      look for in plugin’s style.css:
      .google-map-placeholder { border: 1px solid #333333;}

      change it to: .google-map-placeholder { border: none !important}

what address is that? paste it here… Google Service API validates Geo addresses. If it is inaccurate or slightly wrong, the google wont be able to validate it… Just because the address is on client’s site does not mean that it is valid for Google…

I had a case when someone put as address something like “blue shopping center, Dallas” or whatever….

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 27, 2012 at 3:24 pm

What do you mean by “address is moving” ??

      • Hugo March 27, 2012 at 4:09 pm

        Thk’s for answer !
Ho ! yes ! I did not check in the plugin css :[] .. All the difference betwen pro scripter and .. Me ^^
Anyway now i must re-write the plugin’s css on each update …

Well, i don’t really know what ‘moving’ means concerning the map adresse, all i see is that my map require over 120 markers, and sometimes i have the warning window because the API is not reaching an adresse … The probleme is not the warning window, the problem is that the warning window show up to all the website visitors ! :/

This make severals improvements if you are looking for some good ideas :)
        - Add a checkbox to display or not the map border
        - Make the warning window appear only for the webmaster
        - Add a checkbox to choose wich markers family to be used (this will make the markers search a lot lot easyer
        - checkout how the map download could be accelarated (with the 120 markers the map is so slow !) This is why i just put 35 at the moment …

Hope your Américan move is going fine :p

        Take care

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 12:18 am

          All valid suggestions …

I have someone uses a map with 310 markers… It takes maybe 3-4 seconds to load…. Can you provide me with your client’s blog URL?

when you say “with the 120 markers the map is so slow”, what are we talking about? 1 second? 5? 30?

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 12:41 am

btw, it is always the same address that’s causing the problem? What is that address, tell me mon amie! :P

          • Hugo March 28, 2012 at 10:03 am

Your french is very good ! ;)

With the full map i am close to 8-12 sec of full loading time, i’ll make you a map at this adresse (after breakfast) so we can check exactly how long the map take’s to be loaded.

I am not a scripter but maybe it is possible to cache the map or something like that ?
I don’t work for someone, the map adresse is the welcome page of my website

The adresse was ‘Rue Léon Blum 31140 Saint-Alban’, when i set up the map, the adresse was fine, after a week the adresse was wrong . . . . (but i know the adresse is good ..)

I think it’s normal with so many adresses that sometime one goe’s away… The meanly inconfortable thing is that the warning window show up to visitors ..

            Take care, my friend ;p

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 1:06 pm

Can you please show me the screenshot with the error window?

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 1:14 pm

I got all these markers in around 8-10 seconds:

More than a minutes sounds insanely long \o/

          • Hugo March 28, 2012 at 1:28 pm

            Hi Alex,

I could not find the reply at the bottom of the post, so i answer here,

The map you catched is incomplete, if you wait t’il the map is fully downloaded you will see the window, this will take a minute i guess ..

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 28, 2012 at 1:38 pm

You are right…. in the map you have 95(?) markers and the Geocoder service gets stuck after 20 something:

I never had this on a 310 marker mashup on one site…

I am thinking… Does this site has a lot of visitors or is it just a test site that you and me have visited? Perhaps, since the Geo coder service has a request limit, its just blocks the rest of the requests because way too many people visit…. Hm… regardless, I should implement some caching of the results… But, I will have to do it in San Fran

          • Hugo March 28, 2012 at 1:53 pm

The 95 markers means the project is not complete yet, at the end i will use 180 markers (minimum) The website is not having to many visitors (yet) amost nothing about 20 visitors/day

This is what i think to, a caching thing may be a smart feature :)

This will give you some occupation on the way to California, all you need is a very good batterie on your laptop :)

            Take care,
            see you &
            good relocating ;)

  • Andrew Michael March 26, 2012 at 1:33 am

    Hi Alex,
First off. thank you so much for all of the help that you gave me a few weeks ago, (the direction icons car and person were not lining up). You tried everything and realized that my site was adding a “” and a “” on every line and then referred a different Gmap plugin.

I found the answer and wanted to share:
The theme I was using was called “Striking” and while looking in the discussion room @
I stumbled across the answer, place [raw] [google-map-v3 width...] [/raw].

He also refers your plug-in in the same post.
Anyway good luck with your relocation.

  • Ian March 25, 2012 at 10:06 pm

I really like your plugin, but I do have one question. Is there a way to set the alignment to float to the left or right. I looked at your style sheet but it is written in a compressed fashion and I didn’t want to dig into it. I believe I can achieve my desired result by adding a table and placing the short code within that, but I would prefer not to do it that way.
    Any suggestions ?

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 26, 2012 at 5:34 am

      Hi Ian?

Thank you. Please provide link to your site. I will let you know what CSS to modify

  • Joe. A March 23, 2012 at 6:20 pm

Installed your theme, having had a look and found good reviews on it. However, on placing it on the sidebar of my contacts page – it is absolutely blank.

    Any ideas???

  • marcinos06 March 23, 2012 at 9:24 am

Hi there, there is a conflict between Galleria WP and Comprehensive Google Map Plugin on one of the sites I am building > Is there any chance you would help me with dealing with it? Thanks

  • Lloyd Borrett March 22, 2012 at 8:44 pm

    Thanks for your great plugin.

I must admit I wasn’t so happy when the “Powered by” line was added to my use of it in heaps of posts by default across my site. I give due credit to the plugins I use on a colophon page/post on my web sites. So I’m happy to promote them, but I just don’t want that sort of promotion appearing in my content, especially by default.

I think your plugin could benefit from us being able to use its Setting page to specify our own site wide defaults for the plugin, instead of having to remember to change them every time we use the short code builder.

We should be able to specify our own defaults for things like width, height, alignment, map type, direction hint, powered by, etc.

    Best regards, Lloyd Borrett.

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 22, 2012 at 11:54 pm

      Hi Lloyd,
Thank you for your email. Side wide default setting are not a bad idea.
I will make the ‘powered by’ default value as ‘disable’ for now

  • Pepe March 22, 2012 at 7:16 pm

There is BUG with EvoLve Theme in admin panel, EvoLve settings.
When i disable the plugin, everything works fine.
When enabled there is a problem with the layers view of EvoLve Settings.

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 23, 2012 at 12:05 am

      Hi Pepe,

I really need to look into your WP admin in order to help you. Can you please create a temp login for me?
      I just need 10-15 minutes

  • achnix March 22, 2012 at 6:53 pm

    Sry in english
Hello! Great plugin! But since the version 23 is an error message comes on safari iphone 4s. Safari can not open the page. that was in version 22 is not so!

Thank you and keep it up!

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 23, 2012 at 4:53 am

I have formally reverted to version 7.0.22. Which is actually version 7.0.24 (that contains 7.0.22 files).

Please update. I will have to investigate this further…

  • achnix March 22, 2012 at 6:52 pm

Hallo! Super plugin !! Doch seit der version 23 kommt eine fehler meldung auf safari iphone 4s . Safari kann die seite nicht öffnen. das war bei version 22 nicht so!

    danke und weiter so!

  • Frank March 22, 2012 at 10:56 am

I’ve been using the Comprehensive Google Map plugin and it works really nice! Love it.

I am using it in combination with the jQuery Accordion and the map is half grey when the tab is open. Now i came across a couple of solution while Googling but not one for this specific situation (a Google Map plugin instead of writing something myself).

Could someone please help me out?

    Big thanks!

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 22, 2012 at 11:30 am

It is a known issue to me… Map behaves funny when inside accordion or tabs, the latter’s events confuse Google map…
The solution would be to re-initialize the map… I have not spent much time on that, but that short time I have spent, I have not found elegant solution that I was happy with … So ATM I dont have a good fix for that…

      • Frank March 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm

Thanks for the fast reply; great!

Considering the fact there is no elegent solution at the moment, could you pass me the non-elegant one? :D

I tried the ‘checkResize()’ but to be honest; i dont know on which selector and where/when to call it! Also i tried the ‘google.maps.event.trigger(map, “resize”);’. Same story; what class/id/selector should ‘map’ be?

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 23, 2012 at 4:57 am

Map is the Google map object … Have a look at cgmp.framework.js …

Look inside the “var GoogleMapOrchestrator = (function() { …. }” … You just need to know what events to listen too and do map resize…

          • kausar March 23, 2012 at 6:30 am

            Hey Alexander,
First i must congratulate and thank you for making such a cool plugin. works great. well i did my own tweaks like saving the generated Map shortcode into a custom-field for a post and then show the same map on click of icon saying launch Map and I launch map after an AJAX query into a Modal popup (precisely i use Facebox) . Well my issue is sometimes the map will show , bust most of times the map will say Dear blogger couldn’t reach google map API.
Can you help on this plz.

Also the Mashup option. My need is like this i’m on page where all happening of a particular city say Sydney are showed on a map.
what I want is that when i’m in sydney all posts (having custom field sydney) show on that like restaurant, cafes, hotels, beaches etc; does mashup support that as I fell it means all maps created across site will show in just one map.

            Sorry for long post ;)

      • Frank March 22, 2012 at 1:03 pm

        Hi Alexander,

Thanks for the fast reply; great!

Considering the fact there is no elegant way, could you pass me the non-elegant? :D

I tried using the ‘checkResize()’ function, but i dont really know when to call it (after opening the new slide i guess?), and on which selector? Also i tried the ‘google.maps.event.trigger(map, “resize”);’, but the same question here; which selector should ‘map’ be?

  • Ludvig March 21, 2012 at 11:32 am

We have a problem running your map plugin since we are on https. We get that content is loaded unsecure. I think this would be an easy fix checking if it is run under a https then load information from Google with https. They have that on almost all urls. Is this something that could be possible for you to fix?

  • Joe March 19, 2012 at 5:34 pm

Can’t access the settings for the plugin. I get the following error. “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” Change permissions to 777 and ownership and group to site owner for the plugin folder and files under wp-content. Is there another file some place that needs to be changed?

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 12:57 am

Thats very very weird… It is not due to file permissions on the file system…. It has to do with WP itself…. If your WP user has permissions to activate/deactivate plugins, you should be able to access the settings. Anyway, it is just one setting whether to hide shortcode builder from under the HTML editor when writing a post/page. All the map config settings are in the widget or shortcode builder

  • Liz March 19, 2012 at 12:23 pm

I updated the google map plugin today and now the map isn’t showing up in the post. The link to the post is . The map should appear underneath the text. Please could you tell me if I’m doing something wrong! I’ve tried rebuilding the shortcode and deactiving and reactivating the plugin but it still doesn’t work.

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 12:36 pm

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 12:42 pm

Liz, what plugin version did you have before updating, do you remember? ATM I am trying to understand why plugin scripts were not loaded, not JS nor CSS… Alternatively, it would be great if I can look in to your WP admin

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 1:59 pm

Liz, I am trying to apply a fix perhaps it can help you

      • Liz March 19, 2012 at 3:26 pm

New update works (7.0.18), thank you!

  • Serentype March 18, 2012 at 6:01 pm

Hello! I’m just started to use your plugin, but I’m already love it! It’s a greate job you’ve done, thanx!
I wonder if there is a possibility to sort posts on mashup map by language? I am using Qtranslate plugin and have every post in 3 language versions. Map shotcode inserted in every language version of the post. And on the mashup map all markers (from different language versions) appear simultaneously. Thats not good) Offcourse I can make not a mushup map but simple map with markers on each language. Having 1500+ markers on 3 languages I beleave to ask for help)

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 2:14 am

      Hi and thank you :)
      you cant do sorting ATM.
So… In other words, you are saying that the same marker location appears 3 times in geo mashup? One time for each language – one location and two of its duplicates? That should not happen. I am filtering marker locations when making geo mashup in order to remove duplicates…

Did I understand you correctly? Please provide a link to the page where the geo mashup is,

      Thank you

      • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 9:52 am

I dont know are there duplicates. I’ve made an experimen before asking first with markers. Changed marker coordinates at different languages of one post I’ve seen both of them simultaneously. Therefore markers from all languages are shown simultaneously. I dont know how to check duplicating but visually there is no duplicating.

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 10:27 am

Ok… let me see if I got you right:

On this post , there are following markers
. Three markers in Mariupol area.

          In the marker mashup map
I can see the same three markers next to Mariupol on the mashup:

You mentioned previously that “…And on the mashup map all markers (from different language versions) appear simultaneously…”. By this logic I would expect to see on mashup map 9 markers next to mariupol. 3 for UKR, 3 for ENG and 3 for RUS … Am I missing something here? Elsi hochesh pishi na russkom…

P.S. The map looks nice with your icons :)

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 10:48 am

            :) for icons)
I don’t understand the logic of marker language mode appearance. Different language markers shown simultaneously not by duplication but substitution. For example, there are two markers point A and point B. Both of them has two language versions (eng and rus). At the mashup map simultaneously appear point A in russian and point B in english. That is a problem.

Practically there is a problem of not displaying some posts, but I think step by stem mode preferable.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:00 am

Ok… the logic is on my side…. Just before the mashup display, I go through ALL the markers that were saved and prepared for mashup. I check for marker locations (lat, long or address – does not matter), in other words, I eliminate duplicate locations, by choosing only one marker location from точка А и точка В. I am making sure that I display marker locations that are unique…. I dont care about the language and I cant check for it… Ponimayesh?

Now, regarding this “Еще есть проблема, что маркеры не со всех постов отображаются”, eto yest problema….
Can you provide me please more information about it? Preferably with links to examples?

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 11:08 am

            replying for the last comment:
here is a marker in the post (location Zaporizhia)/
   – same location on the mashup map.

Получается, что фильтровать маркеры по языку mashup не получится? просто уточняю.
В любом случае остается вариант с ручным вбиванием.
Надеюсь вопрос про отображение не всех постов хоть пользу принесет.
            В любом случае – спасибо. :)

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:28 am

Right… Ok, can you give me your blog page URLs:
a/ link to that marker near Zaporojie and
b/ link to the mashup map that does not have that marker… I need to inspect HTML source of these pages

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:28 am

Получается, что фильтровать маркеры по языку mashup не получится, nope, not ATM :)

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:31 am

            kstati, kak tebe vaashe plugin?

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 11:15 am

I think I’ve figured out the point with diplaying different languages on mashup map. Plugin forms title and content for the buble using the first displaying name of the post. And qtranslate forms the title with language order.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:33 am

Ok, so you just have to make sure you keep the same language order, right?

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:34 am

Please update now to 7.0.17 and report if you have a problem. Now mashup can include maps from pages too :)

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 11:42 am

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:47 am

            Thank you :)
Hmmmm…. description uje mojno dobavliat kogda configuring location … but it is still manual work… I see 7.0.17 works fine :)

I am moving to USA probably very soon for a year, not sure whether I have time for new releases. I want to do a feature freeze and just fix bugs when people report. I am going to be away from the PC soon, so I want to make the plugin more stable

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:53 am
          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 11:48 am

nope, language order is the same everywhere. It explanes why I see the mesh with languages but no way to filter language) But thats ok, if title and description could be added not only on mashup marker.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:57 am

            yeah, i get you…

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 12:00 pm

kstati, esli ne trydno, ne mog bi ti men zviozdochki dobavit na: ?

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 11:51 am

with 7.0.17 the problem with displaying some posts still exists.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:58 am

yes, I still need to look into that bug :) 7.0.17 never meant to fix it. Sorry, I should have clarified :)

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 12:03 pm

            done with stars :)

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 1:06 pm

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 1:35 pm

Will investigate :) please provide additional example links

          • Serentype March 19, 2012 at 2:29 pm

   – mashup
post with 2 (added second marker in Zaporizhia) markers (first marker displayed normaly from the beginning), on the mashup – displayed both.
            experiment 2:
taking marker from this post (displaying normaly from the beginning) and placing it into (not displaying normaly from the beginning) – none displaying at the mashup.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 2:56 am

Privet… Can you answer the two questions below:
a/ how many published posts you have in your site?
b/ how many published posts with maps do you have on your site (as far as you know)?

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 6:07 am

I am going to email you version 7.0.19, please have a test. So uninstall your current version and install what I give you. Have a play with mashup, see if markers are appearing now… If you see any problems, please install v7.0.18 from

          • Serentype March 20, 2012 at 6:57 am

            Had a test of 7.0.19
            a. 336 posts
            b. 307 posts with map

At the post maps everything is ok, nothing changed. At the mashup map the quantity of marker decreased to 5 markers.
If it helps with debbaging – I may not to reinstall 7.0.18. Being under construction now it is acceptable.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 7:08 am

So you mean the mashup now has ONLY 5 markers? Or 5 marker less than it should?

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 7:12 am

            Ooh wow…5 markers… Lol

This is crap :) will look into it again soon!

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 7:15 am

Btw, how did you update to 19?
Did you uninstall 18 through WordPress and did clean install of 19?
Or you just overwritten files of 18 with files of 19 via FTP?

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 7:31 am

Damnit… Default limit for getting posts is five! Hehehe… I will email you another version soon!

          • Serentype March 20, 2012 at 7:54 am

I’ve deactivated and deleted through a wordpress admin panel 7.0.18. Then uploaded files of 7.0.19 via ftp and activated it.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 8:59 am

Please try again :) i have emailed you the updated ZIP, same version! Don’t get confused with older v7.0.19 ;)

          • Serentype March 20, 2012 at 12:51 pm

Everything works fine! Thank you very much!

  • Simon March 18, 2012 at 3:10 pm

Could you validate it for html 5. Also, why load object if there’s no map ? bad way…

    Thx a lot

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 18, 2012 at 3:19 pm

A number of reasons that relate to WordPress as a whole and widgets and shortcodes running together. I am still searching for the best way… ATM it is better than loading JS … What do you want to have validated? its a few divs bundled together

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 9:24 am

Version 7.0.18 does not load anything if there is no map, but on demand only.

      • Simon March 21, 2012 at 7:04 pm

object need data and type attributes
        attribute align is obsolete
attribute autcorrect isn’t allowed on input

Also, powered by is useless and easy to bypass : .powered-by a{display:none;} or with javascript.
        Donation isn’t enough ?

        thx a lot :-)

        thx a lot :-)

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 21, 2012 at 9:36 pm

I will look into the object pros… Regarding powered by, I have made a config setting so you can choose not to display it. I am aware that it can be bypassed, I am not on the mission to force it permanently…

Isnt donation enough? Enough for what, for survival? LoL … Its optional too, just like powered by. I am providing premium support without expecting a donation back

  • odo13tz March 18, 2012 at 1:24 pm

i can’t see any marker now after updating…

  • Michael March 18, 2012 at 9:54 am

    Thanks for the reply Alexander.
I did mange to remove the blank link with by adding object {display:none} to the css file. not quite the optimal solution but it removed the line.
still not showing in firefox – this is the url –

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 18, 2012 at 10:50 am

Michael, please update to the latest 7.0.16 version. The proper fix has already been put in place.

  • Chana March 18, 2012 at 5:25 am

Hi! I’ve used your plugin for my site and it was working perfectly until I updated it to, I believe, Version 7.0 (about 3 updates ago). It is now just showing a blank grey map. What can I do to fix it?

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 18, 2012 at 6:46 am

      I will have a look

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 18, 2012 at 7:17 am

Chana, update will be out in 20 minutes….

BTW, it is not a problem, but just to point something out in your address: 105 Glebe Point Rd, Glebe NSW 2037 (The Wholistic Chiropractor)

The “(The Wholistic Chiropractor)” is not part of an address and should not be there. Its not a geographical information. You can put these words as an optional marker description (if you look at the plugin widget form, you will see another field where you can enter the description of the marker location)

  • Mark Roosevelt March 17, 2012 at 10:17 pm

I’ve fallen in love with your plugin, but I have been unable to determine one thing: My use will be extensively (almost exclusively) on mobile devices. I’m using WPtouch to translate a site to mobile, and when your maps display, they are draggable. This is a problem with touch devices, as the user drags the map, not the page, when trying to scroll. Can I somehow access the ‘draggable=”false”‘ option and have just not figured it out?

  • JC March 17, 2012 at 4:40 pm

I love the look of your plug-in. I need your help in making it work for a WP theme by ThemeShock. It is not reading the coordinates. Thanks…

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 18, 2012 at 12:57 am

      Hi JC,

I cant help you if I cant have a look at your WP Admin. I dont have the theme, I think its ‘stillme’?
Is it possible to have a look at your WP Admin? my email is azagniotov _at_ gmail

  • shreyo March 17, 2012 at 2:12 pm

    hello Alex,
first, i’m really thankful for your plugin which is usage is inexpressible.
but, jus l like few others, i’m unable to see the map (show jus an border) when the shortcode is put up in a custom made wp theme made by me; error: google is not defined. (; but when the same shortcode is put on other templates its jus doing its marvelous work.

  • David Bator March 17, 2012 at 7:00 am

Hey first I wanted to say I really love your plugin! Of all the maps plugins I’ve tried yours is by far the most functional and elegant. However there is one thing I REALLY wanted that I see it doesn’t do. Right now I see there is a short code to get a map with the aggregate of all map point data from all posts. However I noticed it specifically said that short code was not able to be generated from map data contained in pages. I was wondering when or if that feature could be implemented as it’s something I would REALLY love for my particular implementation.

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 17, 2012 at 2:19 pm

      Hi David,

Yes, offcourse its possible . I just need time :) But, having said that – i will try to add this in the near future

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 18, 2012 at 10:40 am

Its done. I will release in one-two days. Pages now included in the mashup… Regards

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 19, 2012 at 11:25 am

David, please update to v7.0.17 to get what you want

  • Michael March 16, 2012 at 1:44 pm

    Got two small issues.
    1) I have inserted the shortcode in a widget, but for some reason the <object id=… line is added before the title of the widget, anyway to have it placed inside the widget box?
    2. Getting a blank empty box in firefox.

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 16, 2012 at 3:30 pm

Can you show me a shortcode that you inserted to a widget? and this is a test widget right? You know that you have dedicated Google map widget?
Can you show me a link to your post/page where the map is? your domain redirects to naughty sites :P I need to have a look what you have done

  • Carlos Flores March 16, 2012 at 3:56 am

Really really cool plugin!!! You should be compensated, make a free version and a premium or support side of it. I donated! I’ll donate more when I use your plugin on more site and I blog about your plugin too.
    Thanks Alexander! You Rock!!!

  • Lisa Lloyd March 16, 2012 at 12:42 am

I am really new at this and just intalled the map widget today. It was working great for a few hours, then just showed the html instead of the map. What did I do wrong? Thanks!

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 16, 2012 at 1:04 am

      Hi Lisa,

Your map works fine…. I tested in FF 10.0.2 on Mac and Safary 5.1.3, what am I missing?

  • sudipta sarkar March 15, 2012 at 9:37 pm

    Hi Alex
I am using your plugin to render a map for an event venue and I think I am doing whatever you have documented but no map is being displayed. I see an empty frame. The shortcode I am using is as follows:
    [google-map-v3 width="350" height="350" zoom="12" maptype="ROADMAP" mapalign="center" directionhint="true" language="default" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkerlist="1656 islandview ct., hoffman estates, il 60169{}1-default.png{}test" maptypecontrol="true" pancontrol="true" zoomcontrol="true" scalecontrol="true" streetviewcontrol="true" scrollwheelcontrol="false" bubbleautopan="true" showbike="false" showtraffic="false" showpanoramio="false"]

Any suggestion as to what I might be doing wrong? YOu can see the page at

    • Alexander Zagniotov March 16, 2012 at 1:07 am

I am sorry for not getting back to your earlier. Different timezones…
I see you switched to another map…

      • sudipta sarkar March 16, 2012 at 1:37 am

I am sorry, maybe I was being a bit impatient. Actually I liked your plugin the best at least from what I read about it. So I have changed back to your plugin in the test page. Please check now and you will see just an empty frame coming up. Please let me know what is probably going wrong.

        • Alexander Zagniotov March 16, 2012 at 3:12 am

Hi… I see that no plugin resources were loaded…. I dont see plugin CSS nor JS in the source of your page….
I also see that you are using W3TC plugin which minifies all JS and CSS on your blog. Historically this has prevented from my plugin to work…

          I hope this helps

          • sudipta March 16, 2012 at 6:42 pm

I deactivated w3tc but still all I get is an empty frame. Any other hunch as to what may be going wrong. All other plugins seems to work fine except this one.

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 16, 2012 at 11:02 pm

Was plugin activation ok? I dont see any of the plugin scripts loaded at all.. No CSS nor JS…. Thtas why there is no map – no JS file is loaded to process the map

          • Alexander Zagniotov March 20, 2012 at 12:53 am

            Hi sudipta,

I understand it maybe too late now… but v7.0.18 should fix the issues you had with the plugin. It worked for another user yesterday

  • sudipta sarkar March 15, 2012 at 8:51 pm

    Hi Alex,
I am using your plugin to show a map of an event location. I think I have done everything as mentioned by you but despite that the map is not showing up. All I see is an empty frame as shown in the url i have given above. Can you please tell me what may I be doing wrong.
